I had read this article from Pope John Paul II. In it the pope says,
"peace remains possible. And if peace is possible, it is also a duty!"
How powerful is that? Forget governments, nevermind organizations, don't rely on agencies. Each have thier own agendas which boils down to a conditional peace.
- "We will keep the peace with you if you buy our products."
- "We will keep the peace with you if you adopt our form of government."
- "We will keep the peace with you if you convert to our religion."
- "We will keep the peace with you if you think the way we think."
If every individual takes it upon themselves to make the possibility of peace their duty, how much more of a chance does peace have? Teaching peace is a great step towards peace, but don't let it stop there. The next step is to practice it.
