SideKick II

Last September I got my SideKick II from T-Mobile, I have to say I've had a lot of fun with it. One of its features is a camera. It does not take the greatest of pictures, I don't even know what the resolution is but with enough light, it is passable... sort'a. Here are some pictures:

Christmas Aftermath

Ugh! I'm full!
The usual family eatfest. Some couldn't make it this year, but there were a couple new faces.

I've been wanting to get a digital camera for a while. I wanted to get one a little better than the one I've been using. I wanted one in the 5MP range but I don't want one that requires a lot of "adjustments". A point and shoot model for the everyday shots that I plan on taking everyday.
So James tells me that Fry's has a 5MP camera that will be on sale only on the day after Christmas (today), but I have to be there early since the day after Christmas is very busy. I asked him what time I should go and he tells me 6:45 am. "What?!!!"
So, after a while I can see how that might be a good idea. I left the house at 6:00 am and got there at 6:30 am and thought wow there are a lot of people here already... little did I know.
There was a line of people that went around not the first corner of the HUGE building, but the second corner almost to the third!!
I was this close to going home, but hey "I'm here, it won't hurt to try."

and 10 minutes later:

this was at the backside of the HUGE building, opposite from the front entrance.

One of the things I was finding pretty funny (and there was a lot of things that I was chuckling about at this time) that even at this point there were people still running to get to the end of the line. They wanted to beat the 10 to 15 people they were racing past, as if at that point there was going to be much difference between being number 879 or 864.
Well, by the time I got in and made my way to the camera department, I asked a salesman if they still had the camera available. He said, "We only had one shopping cart full of those cameras." Looking at the boxes of similar size cameras I would approximate that they only had about 30 cameras. This was something they had prominently placed in their ad... what a bunch of stinkers!

Anyway, I get to church and I get the news... Our church was broken into and a bunch of stuff was taken. My bass guiter and amplifier, an acoustic guitar, another guitar amp, a bunch of computer stuff, network routers, a couple of boom boxes, a flat panel tv from the nursery and a the security camera recording unit (I guess they saw the cameras).

Well, I hope who ever took all those things put it all to good use... Merry christmas!

So Lazy!!!

I have been so lazy! I don't even know how to get caught up with all that's happened since my last post. I don't even know if I can continue the "Retreat Stories". I want to continue it but the truth of the matter is that I let it go for so long that I don't remember most of what happened anymore! But I find myself with more time these days due to the holidays so I will be trying to catch up with the updates... starting tomorrow. It's late.... and there will be pictures... promise.
