Chef number 2

Tonight it was my turn to cook at the Lim mansion. I wanted to try something I have never cooked before, at least not for others. I have been trying a couple of things with shellfish and so that was the theme.

First was a combination of Manila clams, Littleneck clams and shrimp in a garlic, butter and white wine base broth (oh and some peppers to spice it up). Some garlic bread ala James, and then crab stuffed jalapenos.
Daniel gives his two thumbs up.

I forgot to take pictures of the dessert. I also made some lemon bars. They turned out pretty good.

Queen Mary, Both of them

I went down to Long Beach today to check out Queen Mary II. The ship came in this morning around 5 am. I heard that the Queen Mary II is so big it couldn't fit under the Vincent Thomas Bridge. I don't know if that is true or not but it sure is big. She is a lot bigger than her mother.

For the "show" she danced for her mother and the crowd. She spun in place and when she was done both ships blew their horns.

As if they never left...

I have been meaning to put this up for a while.

There are some people that the prospect of seeing them is cause for great excitement, there are some that when you do see them it brings joy, then there are those that no matter how long since you've seen them, no matter how much they have changed, how they've grown, that after the ackward hellos, it's as if they never left.
