Rain gone... *sniff*

Vacation is over...
The sun came back today from wherever it went for its vacation. It's funny how the weather affects some people's attitudes. Yesterday, the students were all grumbling about being back to school or that the break was too short and the rain sucks. Today, even in the long lines in the administration building, they are "huggy/smiley" and happy to see each other again. Same group.

Good rain, Bad rain...

Riverbed Watch ~ (Good Rain)
I have been enjoying these storms!! Like I have said before, I love it when weather misbehaves! Unfortunately, some people just can't handle it. Since the rains started, I've been on "River Watch". But up until this morning, it was very low. Going to church this morning it was roaring!!! I pulled over and took a few pictures.
There is at least 15 feet of bridge support under all that water splashing around.

Then the road underneath the bridge became ... wet.

Here's another shot from the other side.

Driving around! ~ (still good rain, as far as I'm concerned)
Going to church

and another

I even enjoy driving in the rain. I was driving around when it was pouring down hard and the visibility was 10 feet. I was going to take a picture of that but that would have been a stupid picture. Nothing to see... hahaha.

Accident at the corner (Bad rain)
One of the bad things about these rains is that many people don't know how to deal with it. Case in point...
I'm not sure if you can see it but there is an overturned car in the middle of that intersection. Fortunately, the people in the car weren't hurt too bad. they seemed more shaken, one was standing later and the other was sitting on the ground until the ambulance took them to the hospital. One climbed into the ambulance.

Another storm is on the way after this one and the forecast said that the sun will come out... not tomorrow but Wednesday.

Chris is eating fish?
During lunch, Chris decided to try to eat some fish...

... maybe we should have given him a fork or something...

Well, stay safe out there everyone. I'm going outside to enjoy some rain before going to bed.

Miss Los Angeles Chinatown Charity Fashion Show
This year's Miss Los Angeles Chinatown Pageant was kicked off last night but today was their first event. It was a good show. Thank you Berda and Ada for the invite! As this year's Miss Chinatown hopefuls came down the catwalk, my sister and I decided that the contestant with the best calves would get our vote. The show was actually organized much better than the past year's show.
A singer by the name of Ken Oak performed at the event he was ok though there were too many things going on and i did not hear him too well. Laura said he was cute, but she couldn't see his calves ... and that was the end of that.

"I'm never coming back here..."
If you ever need to go to the Macy's Plaza or the Hyatt Regency Downtown, do not park in their parking garage unless you have a lot of time and/or patience. Their automated/no attendant system is very confusing for people who do not like to read instructions. There is not a lot of room for mistakes, like room to get out of the way of other idiots who will also find out that they also have to turn around. I just love people who think that honking their car horns longer will fix the problem.

Laura's new place
Finally got to see my sister's new place. Very nice. 25 foot ceiling, A walk in vault for a closet (nice!), and a killer view on the roof (will post pictures as soon as I get them). I like the second floor space which haven't been built up or partitioned yet. Sammy and I agreed that we could do so much with that kind of space. Still looking for an old firehouse. Now that would be make an awesome place to live.

And the rain just kept comin' down

43 Things

I'm making a list. First of all this is not a resolution. I'm sure everyone has a list of things they would like to do before they get married/have kids/retire/die. I have a pretty extensive one. There have even been times when the list of things that got done outnumber the list of things that still need to be done. But anyway if anyone out there can offer any words of encouragement or better yet some serious "get off yer butt" threats even better.
So check it out and I'll keep posting on my progress.

Another New Year

Finally! I thought 2005 would never get here! 2004 was so disappointing, I had already given up on it about half way through. I am not even going to try to rehash it so let's just move on.

I decided that I am not even going to make any resolutions. I can't fit what I want to change in myself within a year. "Heck it's going to take a whole lot more than a year to fix this baby!"

I guess I'm still a "work in progress"... now where's that white out?
